About ITI Fashion Design & Technology Trade

The ITI Fashion Design & Technology (FDT) trade is a vocational training program designed to develop creative, technical, and professional skills in fashion designing, garment manufacturing, textile technology, and apparel production. This trade provides students with the knowledge and practical experience required to design, develop, and produce fashionable garments according to current fashion trends and industry requirements.

During the training, students learn fashion illustration, drawing techniques, colour combinations, fabric identification, textile science, garment measurements, pattern making, cutting, stitching, and garment construction. The course also covers different types of fabrics, textile materials, sewing techniques, embroidery, garment finishing, and quality control.

The training focuses on practical skills such as designing garments, preparing patterns, operating industrial sewing machines, creating fashion sketches, developing garment samples, and understanding the complete garment production process. Students also gain knowledge of fashion trends, apparel merchandising, computer-aided fashion designing, and professional presentation techniques.

The ITI Fashion Design & Technology course helps students develop creativity, design skills, technical knowledge, and entrepreneurship capabilities required in the fashion and garment industry.
